National Night Out

Tuesday, August 5, 2014 is National Night Out so we are having a party. It will be in the Star Circle cul-de-sac at 5:30pm. Please bring your beverage of choice, a dish to share, and chairs (if you would like to sit).

National Night Out

Tuesday, August 6, is National Night Out so we are having a party. It will be in the Star Circle cul-de-sac at 5:30pm. Please bring your beverage of choice, a dish to share, and chairs (if you would like to sit).

Here is some additional information:

• At some point, someone from the South Lake Minnetonka Police Department will stop by and kids will get a chance to see the inside of a police car and ask questions
• We *might* have a visitor from the Shorewood City Council
• Meat (brats/burgers) and buns will be generously provided by Knopiks (Finer Meat) and Pachmayers
  
• Lutzs are going to wheel over their grill (other grills welcome)
• Karger/Tifts will bring a 6' table and chips
• Lutzs and Karger/Tifts will bring an assortment of plates, napkins, and plastic silverware
  
• We'll have it rain or shine -- there is a 0%, 40%, or 80% chance of rain tonight, depending on where you look, so we're going with 0%
• The party does not have an end time
• We will definitely have fun!

No party June 12

Due to a variety of reasons, we're cancelling again. We didn't hear back from many folks, so we're going to try and plan something via email. If you're reading this and would like to get in on discussions regarding the next neighborhood party, let Nick, Matthew, or Marnie know and we'll add your email to the list.

No party May 29, let's try June 12

Due to the scheduled thunderstorms and the number of people that cannot make it, there will be no neighborhood party tomorrow.

How about we re-schedule for June 12? Leave a comment below as your RSVP, with an idea for a dish you will share.

Next Party on May 29?

Spring is here and it's time for another Star neighborhood party. We would like to find a date that works for as many folks as possible. How about the Wednesday after Memorial Day, May 29?

Success!

There was a great turnout at last night's neighborhood party, with more than 30 people from 13 homes. I would say that is pretty good considering the party was on the same night as Monday Night Football, game 7 of MLB's NLCS, and the presidential debate. A special thanks to Nick for cooking brats for everyone!

Next Up
A number of people agreed that a good date for a future party would be on National Night Out, Tuesday, August 6, 2013. Of course, it would be most awesome if anyone would like to host a neighborhood party before next August. Leave a note in the comments and I'll post the event on this blog.
